The type of relationship I desire, if I had to give just a short answer I suppose I would say one full of love. That of course would include a shared love of God. In a little more detail. . . It would be a committed relationship based on trust andhonesty. A fun relationship with playful times and lots of laughter. An equal partnership, complimenting each other yet maintaining individuality. I was baptized Sept 2nd, 2001.
Some adjectives that I believe describe me are: Honest, sincere, trusting, communicative, easy going, down-to-earth, fun loving, loving and playful. Somewhat of an old-fashioned romantic. I consider myself young in heart, body and soul but still mature and responsible. I think I have a good sense of humor, I can even laugh at myself. Watch out though, I'll laugh at you too :) ~ I feel being a Christian is a way of life, not just a title. Of course none of us are perfect but I do believe we are to study the word of God, hopefully grasp and apply some of His vast wisdom in our lives. Striving to be Christ-like is a life long journey, again, never attaining His perfection but we can darn well give it our best shot. Being a Christian is living in the Spirit, recognizing His convictions, and working on correcting areas where we may feel convicted by the Holy Spirit. There are many characteristics of a good Christian. I suppose, as Christ tells us, love is first and foremost. "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. " 1 Cor 13:13. Another good love passage, "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. " Col 3:12-14. Love is all throughout the Bible :)
I enjoy beach volleyball. Outdoors and nature. I just bought my first mountain bike (bicycle) and look forward to getting into mtb'ing for as a recreational activity. I am not musically inclined but love to listen to most all types of music, rock and blues probably being my favs. I have really begun to like Christian music. I guess that's enough for now. Right now I am pretty content in growing my personal relationship with God. Where I would like to be in a relationship, don't want trying to find one be a distraction from Him. Although, I feel being in a relationship, each can help the other to grow in Christ. May God bless, Joe
