I am a committed Christian. My goal is to gain the discipline and desire to grow closer to God each and every day. Sometimes this is hindered by my love to debate and discuss Christian beliefs. . . . . but I don't believe we should have blind faith. I want my faith to be as strong as possible so I can better enjoy His presence, know His will, and be a better witness. It's tough to always believe in both your heart AND your mind. My friends would describe me as an eccentric, laid back, good-hearted guy, who has a dry sense of humor and will do most anything to create a stir. Almost nothing or no one is too sacred to be ridiculed. But people who know me know that I only poke fun at people I like or things I believe in. I may seem silly externally, but I take things seriously internally. Humor is my relationship vehicle. I am athletic - I like to work out, jog, play basketball, softball, football, golf, etc. And I love to watch football - big fan, but not obsessive. I'm a big music person. I like to write songs on the guitar. I'm influenced by (alternative?) music - droning, lo-fi, post-punk music with a twist of humor. I also like to Contra Dance - it's a 17th century dance from France/Ireland/England. It's kind of a subculture here in the US. It's such a thrill. And I've been learning to dance some of the Swing Era dances, such as Lindy Hop, Balboa, and Charleston. I'm a big lover of good film - I watch a lot of independent stuff. I like anything unusual or with an edge. On the more boring side, I teach mathematics at a junior college. I've been teaching about 10 years or so - I lost count. I'll quit teaching as soon as I become America's Top Model.
