Just testing this trial out. I am an Adult Third Culture Kid (ATCK) looking for someone who has a Christian "world-view" based on being from abroad, living, working, volunteering abroad or just a thirst for the Latin Culture. That could include Italy, Greece, Spain, France, Central, South America or Mexico. If you speak Spanish, Italian, Greek or French, that is a plus. To those with limited access, you can find me at the hot place as nipstress_.
Describe the type of relationship you are looking for. What qualities would you like in this relationship or person?
As Dustin Hoffman said in HOOK, 'I want to find a great and worthy opponent. ' Only kidding. I just thought that would be a truthful twist to a typical female response. Most importantly, I need to see Christ in this man, in his life. Without this, there can be nothing. I need to be inspired by this man - to grow in Christ and just in general.
YOU GET EXTRA POINTS IF YOU HAVE THE ACCENT & ARE OF A LATIN BACKGROUND FROM SPAIN, LATINAMERICA, FRANCE, GREECE OR ITALY. :) If you know what a Third Culture Kid is. I am one & this is vitally important about me. I would like a serious relationship with a man who has a world-view - I think the best "fit" would be a person who is either from abroad or has lived abroad - or possibly has a great interest in the world beyond the USA, is a mature Christian putting God first, a gentleman, leader, kind, sensitive, has a good sense of humor, is honest, loyal, passionate about life, athletic, optimistic, adventurous, loves to dance and places a high priority on family.
He would understand that when each person searches to serve the other one's needs, it isn't necessary to look out for their own. Describe a little of your personality and character traits. (Are you funny, laid back, more serious, open, shy, etc. ?)
I want a man to see Christ in me first of all and to be inspired by me. I am a Christian, curious, adventurous, laid back, serious, open, shy, passionate about life, loyal, honest, big heart, active, social, feminine, love to laugh, dance, committed, place a high priority on family, sensitive, slightly unbalanced;), a nipstress. . .
Describe your Christian faith. Where are you at and what are your goals? What Scripture verses are important to you? The Lord is the greatest love of my life. It was wonderful to realize that I didn't have to earn my way to heaven (or go through purgatory). I never could do it. Salvation through God's grace and mercy and my faith - not works.
Christ has shown me more recently that although, I don't have a horror story of a past to share. . . just how sinful & evil I am. How far from his standard. I've thought for so long that I am a pretty decent human being, but I believe that we are lulled into seeing ourselves a certain way because Satan has us comparing ourselves to others - especially really 'bad' people and he feeds us with rationalizing our relative goodness and deservedness of salvation and blessings from God. Not that we should focus on this exclusively, but I think it is very important to understand and keep who we really are in our consciousness. It is so easy, especially in the USA to think that WE don't need God & that he needs us, that we have succeeded mostly of our own accord and that he is OUR helper/sidekick. I found what I was searching for since I was a small child. A person - Jesus, salvation, a relationship and I am eternally grateful to be called his child. I found this thousands of miles away from home on another continent. God truly did save me - from myself, my sin. I was introduced to Christianity and nurtured in the faith by missionaries. What fabulous first examples, from those who walk the talk.
I was exposed to and immersed into a culture - my culture - Hispanic, which has similarities with some Christian values and priorities. The United States is very affluent and commercialized - distracting. For every 100 people who come through adversity well (spiritually), there is probably only one who comes through prosperity spiritually triumphant. Life seems clearer, simplified, more purposeful, in a third world country. My faith is strong. He is everything to me. I would like to improve my private time in the Word - quality and quantity, commit more scripture to memory. Being a single parent has affected this area of my life.
I would love to take some seminary classes and get involved overseas and/or here in the USA with the Hispanic community. I also would like to help immigrants. So many incredible verses, it's difficult to choose. Probably John 3:16 because from that - come all the rest. It's the beginning and the end. It is the purpose of my existence and drives all that I am and what my mission is.
What would be the perfect setting for a first meeting with a new friend or date? Describe it :-) An ice cream shop or outdoor cafe are always good for talks. A walk or hike somewhere beautiful, poetic, musical, inspiring enjoying God's artistry in his creation.
I also like the idea of a carnival, amusement park or playground setting. There would probably be good conversation because it would be easier to be childlike and open. What are your favorite activities? (Including sports, leisure, artistic/musical, etc. )
Life has so many wonderful things to offer. Watching comedies and light romantic movies, great dramas. I adore the arts, music, dancing, sports, adventure, working out, traveling, hiking, playing and laughing with children, rock climbing, opera, theater, ballet, reading (especially biographies or history), drawing, writing, ethnic cuisine, entertaining. . . many things! But especially being with my two boys. We really enjoy each other. They are my best friends & jewels in my crown. I learn so much from them daily. Describe your current occupation. Do you like what you do? What is your dream job?
I am an interpreter and translator in English and Spanish. IF YOU HAVE ANY NEED FOR THIS SERVICE, LET ME KNOW. I'm also studying public relations. I would like to work for a company that has a presence in a Latin American country or at least a stateside company with the Hispanic community included as a focus. The organization might even be a Christian one. . . Where did you go to school (i. e. high school or college/university, etc. )? What did you study? Did you like it? Would you like to do more?
I went to a public high school in a Cleveland, Ohio suburb. High school was a time of personal highs and lows. During my first year and a half of high school, I wasn't very focused on my studies. High school was an interesting experience. Later, I enjoyed my classes and learned much from spending time with some of my teachers. Would love to take a variety of classes & the idea of seminary classes keeps winking at me. I studied in Central Washington State, Quito, Ecuador, South America and now at Arizona State University West.
What are some of your personal goals in life? To dance - especially salsa, laugh and travel more. I would like to be blessed to have more time to dedicate to serving - 'hospitality', children, missionaries, immigrants, minister to the local business community overseas. . . So much to do. . . . I want to touch hearts and change lives for God. I'm dedicated to lifelong learning. Perhaps live overseas again.
What caused your last relationship to end? What have you learned from past relationships?I became a Christian shortly after getting married. He was not one. This creates difficulties. But a breach in respect, loyalty, and serious dishonesty caused that relationship to end. A couple should be as equally yoked as possible.
I am learning to balance my heart with my head. And lean not on my own understanding. But most of all, to follow the good, old advice: Never kiss with both eyes shut!Where were you born? Have you ever traveled? If so, where? What is your ideal adventure?
I was born in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. Raised in the Roman Catholic Church. I went to a Catholic elementary and middle school. For fourteen and a half years I lived in Quito, 'the face of God', Ecuador, South America which is where I became a Christian and reconnected with my Hispanic roots. I have traveled to the Galapagos Islands (Ecuadorian territory), Mexico, Canada, Cuba, Colombia and Spain. To participate with archeologists and biblical scholars on a 'dig', or take a learning vacation to paint and visit where the great artists and classical musicians lived and worked - that would be awesome.
I would love to visit the Holy Land. Visit Cuba again to follow their historical path including the revolution path. 'Meeting' the Bible characters in heaven, Mother Teresa & Che Guevara to talk with them - that would be my ideal adventure.
Is there anything else you would like to add? This is your chance to get in that last (but not least:-) bit of important info that you would like others to know. My age is 48. The fact that this is not reflected above is for reasons you may or may not understand. The way the site search parameters are set up and function, perceptions, actions & reactions of most men about a number. I am blessed, thankful & confident of myself physically & otherwise. I state my exact age here in order to be 100% accurate and honest from the beginning. Also, who I am in all respects except for acquired wisdom matches up better with a certain 'younger' age range - so this has to do with what I'm looking for also. For instance I'd prefer having a family.
I want to try to live my life keeping Jesus first and in thanksgiving for the incredible gift of what he did for me and gave me, to see his people through his eyes and love them as he has loved me, experience my life, this world and its' people with the passion, love, beauty, care, humor, artistry, and wisdom that the Lord put into himself and his creations. I don't want to be a statistic. I want to make my life count for God. IMPORTANT: Based on several of my experiences on these sites, I feel compelled to add the following: Let me know immediately if I contacted you first?if you are included in the following: not single, free unattached (I would assume even emotionally) This site is for single individuals. I think it isn't appropriate to be on here if you aren't. . If you are on the rebound from a marriage, engagement or any relationship, those men who are players, selfish, immature, noncommunicative or minimally so, are caught up in fear - including of commitment or with unrealistic expectations. If you are included in that group, you need not bother contacting me either. I also expect of myself and anyone who I am involved with to follow through in the relationship. That takes about the same amount of time, attention maturity etc. etc. regardless whether the relationship goes towards marriage or friendship. I don't want to contribute to the baggage a person will carry in the future & I expect the same from others. This requires guarding each other's heart & dignity even through a transition to friendship. Well that was pretty serious. Yeow!!! Ok, here's a light statement: Having long hair doesn't hurt in my book. :)
I HAVE MY WISH LIST. WE ALL DO. BUT MY 'NEED' LIST IS EXTREMELY SHORT CONTAINING THE MOST SOLID & IMPORTANT THINGS & THAT IS REALLY WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR & ALL THAT MATTERS. :)Be true to the bible, but love, have fun, relax and keep your personality & passion. I believe both can and should coexist.
