I'm looking for my best friend. I want to be with someone who enjoys my company above anyone else's. So, I want first a friendship, to have fun, and get to know you in a relationship that is relaxed and easy going. After that, it's up to the Lord.
And it's not about money for me - what you make, what I make. I've had the big house and the nice car, and you know what? It doesn't buy happiness, and it doesn't buy love. If anything, all that stuff only inhibits the things that God wants to do in my life. However, it is about the Lord. If He's not the center of your life; if He does not come first, then I couldn't be there either. Because it's really all about Him, and I've had to learn that lesson the hard way. My faith is the center of who I am. Jesus is my all in all. Without Him I am nothing. My goal is simply to serve Him - I don't know what that looks like right now, but I am waiting on Him to reveal the path He has for me.
My new favorite verse right now is Jeremiah 29:11: "I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you a hope and a future. "Serving the Lord has been important to me since receiving Him as my Savior in 1985, and I do so by using the gifts He's given me in music.
I have a huge and giving heart, so whoever I end up with should expect to be well loved. By the same token, I want to be cherished and treasured by my soul mate. I realize these type of relationships are difficult to come by, so I dream about it until God provides the right person. I've learned what I really want to have in a partner that has the same goals and aspirations that I do, and I believe God wants His best for me in this as well.
