Hello from Santa Barbara California ! I'm a born again, spirit filled Christian man, university educator who works directly with wonderful and exciting populations of first generation university students on campus, teach courses in American History, Politics and Culture as well as World Religions. I have three wonderful precious kids, two in college. All three want to go into full time ministry someday. Enjoy the scholarly life of a university, however, I don't take my university position too seriously (ie don't allow myself to get puffy about my career), equally enjoy camping, wilderness hiking(always make time to wordship God out loud while in the woods), kite flying with the kids, kayaks, photography, anything connecting me with the sea, (to list a few interests). . . and just being me with all people anywhere. Being left handed (right brain), I long discovered that I enjoy the arts and music from so many regions here and abroad. Love to laugh out loud, cook, get a kick walking through book stores, second hand stores and museums. Collect 1940s and 50s comic books, a childhood hobby that never went away. Currently working with my three kids on our family project, a 1956 Chevy (my high school cruiser) with the hope of getting it street ready by next Summer! Have a wonderful black Lab with me at home. Hope to serve the Lord more with additional missionary trips here and abroad these next years. Always open for an adventure and travel. Seek to find ways to have fun with life. A down to earth guy, very approachable and uncompromised in my faith. Love to see 30 & 40s movies. I am not into criticizing or judging others. Teach Sunday School (love those kids) have been very involved in prison, street witnessing and ministry to the elderly. Forever been an avid reader. . . "The Word" is my central read, but other reading interests include Early American History, Social Justice Work (reading as well as doing), marine science, and Sci Fi. Serving our God and family is central to my life. I miss my bride. I'll travel the world to find her.
