Hi. My name is Clyde. After spending 2 1/2 years on the Mississippi coast with a mission church of the PCA doing reconstruction following Katrina, I am now raising support to go to Belize. I will be doing construction planning and management, learning and assisting with sustainable agriculture, and anything else the Lord brings for me to do. I have committed the rest of my life to serving Him in some kind of mission work, using my gifts and abilities to build God's Kingdom. I am a deeply committed Christian, and strive to know my Lord Jesus and make Him known. I am warm, caring, and compassionate, and love laughter and good conversation. I am seeking a mature, earnest Christian woman with the same desire to serve Jesus Christ in serving others. If you have read John Piper's book "Don't Waste Your Life, " and desire above all else to hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant, " when you see Him face to face, drop me a note. If you have read Francis Schaeffer, I really want to talk. Please, no recently single or separated women. I also seek someone who is fit and active, and not afraid to do a really hard day's work. My motto is, "to spend and be spent for Christ. " I live a very simple lifestyle, requiring only the necessities of life, with good friends, good fellowship, and good books. Finally, it is very important that my mate know the meaning of forgivenness, as I am a seriously flawed man, who is being re-modelled into the image of Christ. Some might read this profile and think, "That could never be me. " I can assure you that the rewards which come from living a life of serving the Lord by helping others far outweighs any sacrifices which seem to be required. The great 19th century missionary, David Livingston, when asked if the sacrifices that he had made were worth it replied, "What Sacrifices?" The Lord replaces the sacrifices of material comforts and familiar surroundings with a deeper sense of His presence and joy, and the understanding that we are doing things for others which will have eternal significance. "A man's life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses. "Personal stuff: I have been single for 20 years. I had a relationship that ended a year ago. Her kids said they liked me, but they didn't think I was the right man for her, (I think it was the missionary income level). I have 6 kids, 27 to 37, and 14 grandkids, with 2 on the way. The older three of my kids are believers, and the younger three aren't yet, but will be. I love the beach, and ocean that moves (I'm a displaced surfer). I like camping, gardening, and historical/cultural stuff. I prefer classical, jazz, and folk music, with a few classic oldies (60's). I don't watch TV - don't own one. I rarely go to the movies, because there aren't that many good ones. I do not like arguing or yelling and screaming. I believe mature adult Christians should be able to talk about differences and disagreements. I am not politically partisan because I am a Christian, but I usually find myself agreeing with conservatives. I believe that a couple should seek the Lord's guidance together and agree before moving forward, submitting themselves one to the other. Finally, I believe it when the Lord says that a man should love his wife as Christ loved His church and gave Himself for it. If what I have written sounds interesting, send me a note, I would like to share my calling with you. Clyde (A crusty old carpenter)
