Let me share a story with you if I may. . . A man stood silent, his hand dropped to his side, as he remembered a story, of God's Word, from inside. A master bid his servant, a journey of him to make;"Find, for my son, a wife he may take. "Obeying his master, he went into a land, and there found Rebekah, by the well did she stand. She listened to his story, with her father, Laban too, and when the servant finished, it was from God, they knew. To Rebekah, mother said, "With this man will you go?""Yes, " she gave in answer, "and may the servant know. "We pause now in this story, and you see the man sigh, but look a little closer, at the smile in his eye. For in the fields stands Isaac, to his servant he will greet, and on one camel, sits Rebekah, the damsel he will meet. He took the maiden by her hand, and went into Sarah's tent. She became his wife, and he loved her, and so the story went. (From my poem, In the Morning Fog) What are you looking for in a partner?I am Isaac looking for Rebekah. The most desirous thing I look for in someone is her spiritual quality. I've been around these "Christian" sites long enough to see the term "Christian" is a great mischaracterization. I would truly like to meet a pretty Lady whose faith permeates every aspect of her life. In this person, worldliness would take a back seat to our Lord Jesus Christ. A woman of compassion for the needs of others. A woman whose light shines in a dark world. A woman with a quiet and gentle spirit (please don't infer the word "quiet" to be used as the feminist would define it). His word teaches us that anything that occupies our mind more than Christ, is "idolatry. " This has nothing to do with legalism, but only love. He saves us, not to continue in our old selves, but to "be conformed to His Image" (Rom. 8:28-30). It means we are now living a new life in Christ Jesus. Not saying at all, I still don't enjoy doing many things with someone I care for. Would prefer hearing from someone with photos. Would also prefer her age to be no more than mid 50's. I'd just like to add. . . As we see events unfolding in the news these last few years, the days of the Tribulation period and the Day of the Lord, are coming fast upon the world. We are told in God's word to be diligent, and prepare for eternity. Now that I'm retired from the airlines, it allows much more time in the study and writing of His word for the strengthening of His church. On a lighter note, my interests are many, ranging from roughing it in the wilderness, to taking a Lady to a symphony. Music interests include the old hymns of the early Reformers between 1400-1800, and the classicals of the old composers. I am also conscious about my weight, so I speedwalk and excercise daily. The Lord revealed Himself to me in 1989 following 15 years of falsely believing I belonged to Him. I have seen the greatest of despair and witnessed the faithfulness of God. I have learned the biblical meaning of brokenness and the tears of joyfulness in the Lord. I would add one more thing, "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who honors the Lord should be praised"(Proverbs 31:30).
