I've been divorced for going on two years. I have to say I've learned a lot about myself and my relationship with God over this time. I'm part of a church that I love and enjoy being actively involved in my weekly bible study as well as other activities. So, what else do I do? I love animals and have an 11-year-old dog that is fussy and stubborn, but I love him anyway. I try to give back to my community by volunteering at my local animal shelter. I also like to be active. I jog at lunch everyday and enjoy doing other active things like hiking. However, I'm not very coordinated so I've never been very good at things like softball or volleyball. I guess having a fear of being hit by a ball could have something to do with it. I enjoy travel. My two favorite places so far have been Italy and New York City. I look forward to going back to both some time. But I like any kind of travel, even just small weekend road trips. I'm definitely a planner at heart and enjoy planning events with my friends. This sounds silly to say but the older I get the more I realize the importance of friends and family. So, I really try to create balance in my life between work and play. Play might mean going into the city to see a museum exhibit or play, or a drive to Santa Cruz to hang out at the beach. Although I really enjoy exploring all that the Bay Area has to offer, I have to say my favorite place to spend Friday night is on my couch watching a good movie, with my dog next to me. Balance between work and friends is important, but so is resting and recharging.
