Paddling along my long boat toward the misty glow in the distance, You know where you are, you have been here before many times. You know as long as you head toward the fleeting light in the misty horizonYou will find your way home in due time?As the doldrums try and hold your boat stagnant and the sea nymphs cry your name; You continue to propel your boat forward with hope? For you know it is your only chance to survive in this environment, The only way out is to keep heading toward the fading glow?As the mist thickens and the glow becomes dark and lost to you, You sit complacent in your long boat and reflect on how you arrived? What brought you back to this place of familiar reflection and misdirection? How again did you lose your way, lose your compass, and lose your passion? You accept that you made a choice again without listening to your guides, You failed again to follow their advice to hear their words and believe the truth. You sought happiness and joy and love from without, Yet again being selfish and proud, Might as well jump in the water with the sea nymphs and be done with it!The fog becomes thicker and their sirens sound so sweet and sensual and inviting;"Come under the sea with us where all is calm and all is silent and peaceful"As your eyes become heavy upon their sweet melodies and your body feels lightYou imagine hands gently lifting you up holding you above your long boat?Your eye lids burn as if brightness has momentarily blinded you with its brilliance, As you slowly open your eyes to try and focus upon where you are, Your body feels the warmth of the sun? And the dampness that once consumed you gone, Your breathing is deep and strong and the sirens cries heard no more, Just as you had begun to fall asleep and dream of your long seductive swim withThe sea nymphs in their watery world below?Someone picked you up and brought you to where the sun shines and skies are blueThe air is filled with compassion and joy and love that breathes life into youWith every breath you take, you have been raised above your gloominess? And brought into the light Whose only purpose is Love.
