I'm a Jewish believer in Jesus, Israel's long-awaited Messiah, who loves the Lord. I live in Chicago and Palm Harbor FL. ***Introduction A Loving Jewish Believer in Jesus for You!. . . . . . . . In enjoying very fine wines, can't an "older" wine in years indeed sometimes turn out to be even better than some of the more recent ones? Of course, it can. How about the intriguing possibility, then, of there being for you an intelligent, warm and very caring Jewish widower, believing in Jesus, and actually sent to you by God in answer to prayer--- a man who will easily come to love and appreciate you more than you ever could have imagined--- and who can read fluently the Old Testament in Hebrew, and the New Testament in Greek? That's your Chicago Tiger, potentially, and here for you is more about him: (This entire profile is actually directed towards one wonderful young lady who'll be reading it. I just don't know exactly who she is yet!) PROFILE OF CHICAGO TIGER: I LIVE IN: Chicago (Near North Side/Gold Coast). Winter home: Palm Harbor, Florida OCCUPATION: Private financial investor (for own account) EDUCATION: M. B. A. from Harvard Business School. B. S with honors from Univ. of California (Berkeley). Also Univ. of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and Youth with a Mission School of Evangelism (Lausanne, Switzerland). WHO I AM, AND WHAT I LIKE TO DO: I lived in Jerusalem and served in the Israeli Army for several years, and still keep a home there. Born Jewish, I've also been BORN AGAIN/FROM ABOVE--- just like Jesus' apostles and early disciples! Am able to read and teach the Bible from the original Hebrew (and N. T. Greek too). Seeking as much as possible to be constantly led by the Holy Spirit, I love actively sharing our Good News with people I meet, along with distributing or leaving evangelistic booklets/tracts. I've also enjoyed collecting colorful, old toys and interesting nostalgia, celebrating the popular culture of the 20th century. Am preparing to start redesigning my residence in Chicago (which has beautiful lake and city views, located in a building with the highest apartments in the world), to create in the space a unique and exciting private, home "museum/library" (not open to the general public) that will display the extensive collections and fulfill other wonderful dreams. Would love to have help in all this! I also spend time in Palm Harbor FL (Tampa Bay area) during part of the winter in a community, in my home there--- which is right on and overlooking a beautiful lagoon (and where I also want interior design help). In my life experience so far, have enjoyed traveling around the world to places like Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, China, Korea, India, Africa, Europe etc. I like animals, especially tigers. Speak pretty good French, and also a little Spanish and German. Am active on the board of my condo building in Chicago and exercise and swim every other day. (I'm in excellent, virile health. ) Weigh around 248 lbs. ; occasionally wear glasses; sometimes drink wine socially. Play a little guitar, harmonica and the organ. Have served on the board of the Emergency Fund for Needy People. Am a member of the American Association of Museums. I'm very interested in interior design, graphic design, the medical field, psychology & counseling, diet & nutrition and electronics, as well as investment matters. Here are some of the personal qualities I think I have: caring, warm-hearted, kind, supportive, spiritual, affectionate, honest, sincere, loyal, outgoing, good sense of humor, loves to laugh, easy to talk to, fun to be with, optimistic, energetic, able to work as part of a team, adventurous, intelligent, an independent thinker, open-minded, knows how to seize a good opportunity, attractive, eager to share in one's partner's dreams too. TO FIND THE WOMAN I'M LOOKING FOR, WHICH IS: Someone who shares many of the personal qualities I just mentioned above, namely: caring, warm-hearted, kind, supportive, spiritual, affectionate, honest, sincere, loyal, outgoing, good sense of humor, loves to laugh, easy to talk to, fun to be with, optimistic, energetic, able to work as part of a team, adventurous, intelligent, an independent thinker, open-minded, knows how to seize a good opportunity, attractive, eager to share in one's partner's dreams too. Interest in current events, philosophy and a strong Christian faith are very important. A definite non-smoker, gentle, flexible, easygoing, preferably born in the 1950s, with no children at home and who could manage to live without a dog (I love 'em, but, unfortunately, just can't have 'em because of condo rules) in a future home. As an avid nostalgia and toy collector, I do hope to find a lady who can share this hobby, especially by helping me organize and display our wonderful collection, which will be showing forth God's magnificent creativity through His amazing gifts of human creativity. Computer knowledge and interest in American popular culture would be helpful. I'm also writing a book on theology and the true meaning of life--- a book different from any other I know (pretty daring, right?) --- and would love to share this pursuit, as well, with my partner. Here, good Biblical knowledge, an interest in theological discussions, and perhaps also good writing skills would be quite helpful. I believe that a Christian husband is to be the Lord's head of the home; so I need a woman who would be comfortable letting me have the final decision-making role in most matters. At the same time, the man is to be very sensitive to his partner's needs and sacrificially-loving, with sound judgment--- which qualities I do seek, through God's enabling, to have. Finally, since moving to downtown Chicago (and Palm Harbor) to pursue the relationship would be necessary eventually, a life situation or job that would allow you to do that is obviously quite important. SO HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO YOU?: Realizing, we can both agree, that all this is a lot to ask, and comes out reading almost like a "job description"--- yes, I know, I know!--- if it nevertheless DOES sound anything like you, please DO write me, will you?! True, I may be quite a bit older in years than you understandably and reasonably had in mind, but I am also a very kind, generous, romantic and loving man, who has much to offer the right lady. In fact, by faith, I have great expectations that a special, delightful female-someone reading this (perhaps you!) will find herself led to say: "You know, maybe it would be interesting just to send off a little, no-obligation 'hi' message to my friendly, 'Chicago Tiger' brother-in-the-Lord. " And, possibly to some people's surprise, but not to God's, we'll both be glad you did! My past relationships have taught me. . . To look for the characteristics mentioned in my answer above about the woman I'm looking for. Have learned a lot--- very edifying and very humbling. To me, being a Christian means. . . My faith is indeed to me my everything. It flows naturally from understanding and appreciating who Jesus is, and what He has and can do in my life, and in the lives of those who come to love and trust Him. All of the first Christians were Jewish people. Messianic Judaism to me just means the faith of Jews who Biblically believe in Jesus as Messiah ("Christ" in Greek). It's the Christian faith, keeping its Jewish roots properly in mind; it's authentic prophetic Judaism, that has now, per God's original plan, brought in non-Jewish as well as Jewish believers in the Messiah. I'm very comfortable in any church gathering that my Messiah and Savior Jesus approves of, I'd like to think. It would be nice if my partner had, or came to develop, an interest and feeling for God's chosen Jewish people. Why is a Christian relationship so important to me? It's commanded. It's obvious. It's an ultimate joy. In five years, I see myself How about having finally gotten together with you! Also see profile above. In addition, I would like to see our warm and inviting residence in Chicago completed well before then--- with it serving also as a place where large Bible studies, and prayer and evangelistic meetings (preferably with music) are held, and where missionaries, pastors, friends and family can visit overnight or longer for rest and refreshment, enjoying beautiful views from high up, and this right in the midst of a fascinating and exciting neighborhood. My favorite Bible passage is. . . Too many to list. Proverbs 3:5-6 was one Scripture I was looking at just today. . . . . about what you and I need to be doing, for the Lord to be directing our paths. One final thing I'd like to mention. . . MISC. ANSWERS TO VARIOUS QUESTIONS FROM VARIOUS PLACES: Chicago Tiger's Information (perhaps repeating some) Birth date: December 10, 1941 Relocate?: No Grew up in: Glencoe IL, a suburb along Lake Michigan, about 20 miles north of Chicago Smoking: I'm a non-smoker Speaks: English, Hebrew, French, some Spanish, some German Marital Status: Widowed Occupation: Private Investor (for own financial account) Interests: Arts, Animals, Business news, Beauty, Collectibles, Computer programming, Culture, Dancing, Entertainment, Exercise and Fitness, Fashion, Fine Dining, Healthy Living, Investing, Investment Real Estate , Martial Arts, Music, Nature/Ecology, Playing the Stock Market, Reading, Scrapbooking, Surfing the Internet, Travel, Volunteering. Level of Faith: Jesus is my life, my reason for being Denomination: Messianic Judaism/Biblical Non-Denominational Had/Want Children: No Hair Color: Salt and Pepper Favorite television shows: TV news and talk shows, McLaughlin Group, Monk, 24 , sci-fi, Jack VanImpe (Christian, prophecy), Todd Bentley revivals, R. L. Baker tv programs, other Christian. How truthful have you been filling out this profile? Very. Any other places you've lived? Yes. New York City, Atlanta, Kansas City and more. What virtues mean the most to you? Forgiveness, Charity (interest in charitable causes), Mercy, Humility, Contentment, Compassion, Devotion, Friendliness, Moderation, Self-control, Honesty, Hope, Patience, Kindness. Which animal best describes your personality? Tiger, but a cuddly one, like Tony or the Esso Tiger. Do you have any "eccentricities"? Yes. I believe, for instance, that a couple of thousand years ago a young, small-town Jewish carpenter and great story-teller--- whose dad wasn't even his biological dad--- was cruelly executed with some other condemned-criminals, especially for having been claiming that he was actually some kind of extremely powerful "King". I must admit that hardly any of the leading religious authorities and experts of his day bought into the fantastic things he told them. But I believe that he actually walked on water, could turn it into wine, and could forgive sins. That he raised dead people back to life, and then rose himself, walking through walls and dematerializing, and that He was in fact the One through Whom and for Whom the entire universe was originally created--- visiting us for a few years in a human body. In fact, I believe that He's presently the actual Divine Individual Who's enabling you and me & everything else to continue to exist at all, moment-by-moment! I also believe that He's coming back here soon in the clouds to this planet with His armies. And I'm betting my eternal destiny on Who I believe He is. If He weren't also the world's Number One Person in history (e. g. B. C vs. A. D. ), written about extensively in what appears to be also the world's number one Book, this little "eccentricity" of mine (very possibly, of yours too) would have to be considered of very great concern, wouldn't it? What factor is most important to you when looking for someone? As perhaps with you, religious faith, with appropriate confirming words and actions. My favorite indoor sports: Swimming, exercise in gym. Tell us what celebrity your sense of humor is most like and why. Jerry Seinfeld. He can see and talk about the humor in everyday life. More about my gender: Very male. What are your most humbling moments? They're inevitably with women, for some inexplicable reason. What's your opinion of this ChristianMingle dating site? So far, privately, I think this site is excellent, --- but after I've spent a little time with you, I'll certainly be raving about it to everyone I meet. Tell us which celebrity you resemble the most. Obviously closer to Danny DeVito than to George Clooney. What is your favorite item of clothing? Whatever clothing you gave me as a gift. Do you have any disabilities/concerns? I have emotional issues: I miss you when we're apart. What is your sexual health status? Am clean and healthy. Some Hobbies and Interests: Business news, Investing, Playing the Stock Market, Surfing the Internet, , Healthy living, Reading, Writing poetry, Writing novels/books, Collecting. And see above. How much time does your job take up in your life? I don't work at an outside job any more. What best describes your dining habits at home? Cook? I can barely make toast, and if I did, nobody would want to eat it. Can you sing well? You'd be better off eating my toast. How often are you online? For an hour or two a day on average. What type of family do you come from? I've got a sister & brother-in-law & more. We're very close. How big of a role does your faith play in your life? It is my life! Do you have any pets? None, but I'm currently hunting for my Tigress. Seen her? When it comes to career, family and life in general, how do you feel? Happy, but I'll be even happier when you and I are finally together. What kind of television shows do you enjoy watching? News, Talk Shows, Documentary/Learning, Sci-fi, plus whatever you love watching, honey. Tell us about your all time favorite TV show and why we should watch it. Anything that encourages and edifies you in the Lord. Because we want to hear: "Well done, good and faithful servant. " And, sure, some good comedy programs, for instance, are just a lot of fun. Tell us about your favorite movies and why you like them so much. There have been so many great movies, up right to the present. Loved the Star Wars and Indiana Jones series, and Superman 1 and 2. What excitement in these stories! *********But Jesus, properly understood, is the greatest ALL-AROUND HERO of all time, in my view! *********I loved the recent "Enchanted" movie, about a lovely princess who found herself in New York City. Did you know that current mayor, Mike Bloomberg, was one of my close classmates in grad school? Tell us about the first album/CD you bought with your own money. Who? What? Do you still have it? I'm supposed to remember? Maybe Mamas and Papas from the 60s. I don't think it was Britney Spears. Did you know that the nephew of my darling wife, Sharon, was the Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan? And long-time actress/singer, Ann-Margret, was one of my favorite classmates I'd sit right next to in high school? What are your favorite types of books to read? Non Fiction, Self-Help, Biographies/Autobiographies, On popular culture. Who would you say was without question the greatest of all the past Presidents of the United States? William Henry Harrison, who also made the fewest mistakes in office of any President. I am still earnestly seeking a beautiful sister-in-the-Lord who has, for a lifetime, passionately shared my deeply-held belief on this most important issue. [Just kidding about all this; was simply wanting to see if you're still reading!] Tell us about your favorite author or book and why you enjoy them so much. The Bible. With it, I've got a sound foundation for everything. Without it, I have no good foundation for anything ultimately important. Of the 66 books, however, I won't read anything that isn't authored either by a Jewish person, or by Luke. (Fortunately, I don't believe that leaves any out!) Hey, Tiger, what about that terrific color code test we're all supposed to take? You didn't do it! Well, I'll tell you. I did a few pages of it and then stopped! Why? It seemed to be asking mostly about negative descriptions of how I might have been as a child, when I had only one nature--- the not so great one we all were born with. I've got a brand new nature now, pure and clean from Above--- a supernatural gift from God, that I steadfastly seek to walk in by faith. I count that old nature, which wasn't much worth reforming or improving anyway, as dead now and having no necessary hold on me at all. Why do I want to display or even participate in a color code test that dredges up the worst or even the very best of my old nature that I count, according to God's Word, as truly crucified/put to death with my Messiah---- not just in theory, but in actual practice? I don't. I'm guessing that this probably valid personality-type test was developed by a very well-meaning and perceptive non-Christian, and would be great for non-Christians. But, by God's amazing grace and power, my steadfast confession before God and man, now and for the rest of my life, is that I have the mind of Christ--- the way of thinking my Messiah, Jesus, had--- and I'm therefore now enthusiastically sharing by faith in all spiritual blessings from my real, present and eternal position in the heavenly places. The old has passed away, that old garbage from the past; an exciting new time for me has come. Not just in theological theory, but in actual daily experience. (True, if I perchance do mistakenly or stupidly heed the hollow echo of that old "child", or of the water-buried , pre-salvation "flesh", for a brief time, I do repent and am to joyfully get right back in normal sync again with the Holy Spirit within me. ) So I just felt I had to stop that dubious color code test for Christians, since even this first part evidently significantly affects the final results. If I'm missing something here, will you please let me know, and I'd be happy to take the test again and display the results? Honestly. ***Update at 5-9-08: Finally --- months later--- took color code test and ended up blue. . . means I value intimacy, I believe, which sounds nice. What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside? Evangelism, Bible study, and worship are examples. I like to think of my awesome and amazing Jewish Savior from heaven as my 24-hour a day "main activity". ******
