Is anyone able to be summed up in one phrase like they want you to on these sites?
I like baseball, most sports in general, but it's not an obsession. My 5 additional commandments for life are: 1. Be as nice as you can, given the circumstances. 2. Admit it when you're wrong. 3. Don't talk about things you don't know about. 4. Make sure of the directions. 5. If it's important, double-check it. I'm learning to make the Lord the most important priority. Other things vie for our attention, and I have a particular problem with slowing my mind enough to attune to Him, but there's nothing even close to that relationship. When you have that, everything else can be handled, because the most fundamental things are right. I like learning things from the net, magazines, people, talking to interesting and fun people. I'd like to go interesting places with interesting people. The Getty is something I have to do. I'd like to go rock climbing again.
I'm teaching science and chemistry in a little charter school near Temecula. It's a pretty good school. One of the things that I really must have that's not strictly a spiritual point is someone with an interested attitude, willing to learn a bit even if it's not her real interest. I think mature, intelligent people can pay attention and learn something. There's always something interesting in the subject somewhere, and the other person being interested should be enough for me/her to pay attention. I think another thing I admire about the women I've liked is an attitude of competency instead of acting like they'll never master even the simplest things about some subjects. Feminine does not mean helpless or dumb.
