My name is Mike. I was raised in a nominally Roman Catholic home, but truly came to a saving relationship and knowledge of Jesus Christ when I was 21. I would like to think that I am most passionate about my relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ, but I realize more and more each day how difficult the Christian life is. Jesus told His followers that the world will hate them on account of Him. He also said that no one can be His disciple unless they deny themselves, pick up their cross, and follow Him. . . . My goal each day I awake is to become closer to God through prayer, fellowship with other believers, worship, reading/meditation of His word and other Christian literature, and leading others to a saving knowledge of Christ. In addition, I am very much interested in and discussing different issues regarding philosophy, theology, politics, and "religion". I am very much into apologetics (defense of the faith) and am frankly disappointed in the anti-intellectual, wishy-washy Christianity I've run across. I know that sounds harsh but I think the church needs to do a better job in educating its people to give answers to those who ask the reason for the hope that we have. But to do this with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15). . . I would like to meet a woman who shares these values, is God fearing, does not conform to the patterns of this world, and who has a fervor and passion for the Lord and His truth that will never die out. . . . I just accepted a position with the Department of Homeland Security as a Customs and Border Protection Inspector in Montana. I will be moving there in mid May.
