As Keith Green once put it. . . I'm bananas for Jesus. :)
I enjoy a lot of things. . . Movies! Home-theater is a hobby of mine. I like re-creating the cinema experience at home and have pieced together a pretty decent setup over the years. I recently bought a house (my first) so i'm quite thrilled to finally have a place to set it up and really see what it can do. . . Apartment buildings are just so unsatisfying for such things. . . something to do with shared-wall neighbors and their relative intolerance for loud noises. I also love going out for a casual dinner & a movie at the ciniplex.
Playing guitars of various shapes, sizes, and number of strings. As for ability goes, I'm somewhere between an amateur and a pro. My musical tastes include rock/metal, classical, contemporary worship, and blues. . . pretty much anything but Country. :)Playing games (board games, PC games, console games, card games like texas hold'em). Before you start jumping to conclusions, I don't like to gamble with my money, so I usually don't play for money. If / when I do play for money, it's always with people I know and it's always for a pre-set limit (like a $20 buy-in with no re-buy-in allowed). At that level, it's cheaper than going out to dinner and a movie and there's actually a chance that you'll take some money home at the end of the night.
Reading (obviously the Word, also miscellaneous fantasy (currently George R. R. Martin's 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series, I've been a fan of Tolkien since I was 10--long before the recent film adaptations), science fiction (Asimov is a personal favorite), and some non-fiction such as historical / biographical works; of late i've been getting into financial primers like 'Rich Dad Poor Dad'). Writing. Short fiction, poetry, prose, songs, etc. When I write freeform I tend to start a piece and then get an idea for something else. . . which often doesn't result in me finishing the first piece until some time down the road.
By the way, I'm currently not a paying member. . . so if you write me and I don't reply right away. . . you know why! I may subscribe one of these days. . . until then, you'll have to live with this little blurb. :)
