I'm a big believer in sticking to your roots. I was raised in a Baptist church and I'm realizing how important those roots are to me. I like to have fun, I'm a bit shy. I love sports. I hope to have a career in sports broadcasting eventually. I alsowant to get involved in college ministry in some way. The Lord once used a music experience to open my eyes to the type of man and husband I would like to be. Once I was listening to some praise and worship music along with some Country music from a local artist. God used one combination of songs to show me something. The Country song was from a woman's point of view, praying for a God-fearing mate that would love her, seek to put her needs before his own, etc. The praise and worship song was sung in a "round, " meaning guys sing one part, girls sing the other. The girls sing the first part of the chorus, "I will praise you Oh Lord My God, with all of my heart. I will glorify your name forever. " The guys sing "Great is your love to me, You have delivered me. "At a Christian conference once, I heard that for a Christian woman, there is nothing more attractive than a man praising the Lord, and I feel that it's true the other way around also. As a man, it's hard to imagine anything better than being in the presence of the Lord and bringing the woman I love before the Lord as well. Ephesians 5 talks about guidelines for marriage, and it talks about how the husband should love the wife as Christ loved the church. Christ loved the church by serving it and giving his life for it. Jesus showed his servanthood by washing his disciples feet in John 13. To me, if a man is really being the Godly man that he should be for his wife, then when she comes before the Lord in worship, she should have this glow about her. She ought to be lifted up just a little higher toward Heaven. I've never experienced that yet, but I believe God will give me the opportunity to do so soon, maybe even through this site. If you'd like to drop an e-mail I'd love to talk. Take care and God bless.
